DarkUndergroundMusicZine made a review for my published a review for my 2022 album DEAD PIXEL MASSACRE (yep, it's the one with the gory mixtape music video)!
Now for the review :
Hostile Surgery/Dead Pixels Massacre/Basement Corner Emissions/2022 Full Length Review
This is a review of another recording from Switzerland's solo project Hostile Surgery which shows the music going for a mixture of noise, drone, experimental and industrial and the album was released in 2022 by Basement Corner Emissions and called "Dead Pixels Massacre".
Noise soundscapes start off the album while the only track that is presented on the recording is also over 40 minutes in length. Synths can also be heard at times along with the music also having its ritualistic moments as well as the music also capturing the atmosphere of a classic horror movie soundtrack.
Programmed beats can also be heard at times which also adds in a touch of industrial while a lot of the music also sounds very improvised. The track also starts getting more diverse as the album progresses along with some demonic voices also being utilized briefly and the music also adds in a lot of nightmare induced drones.
On this recording Hostile Surgery goes for more of a mixture of drone, noise, industrial and experimental to create an album that serves as a soundtrack to a more gore/horror movie soundtrack and the production sounds very dark.
In my opinion this is another great sounding album from Hostile Surgery and if you are a fan of noise, drone, experimental and industrial, you should check out this recording. 8 out of 10.
